We have a great variety of alembics. You can find an alembic according to its capacity, to make your choice easier. Find the alembic that adapts better to your needs according to its capacity. You can choose between different types: Traditional alembics, Column alembics, Bain-marie alembics, Hydraulic alembics, and alquitaras.

TRADITIONAL ALEMBICS

This alembic is in traditional style, made in copper by specialized craftsmen with an experience covering several generations.

The traditional alembic is used for every kind of distillations.

  • Distillation of firewater, distillation of rum, distillation of fruits, distillation of gin and distillation of liquors in general.

  • Distillation of plants, distillation of essential oils destined to the extraction of scents, soaps, etc.

The alembic is made of three parts:

The cooking pot or boiler: It's the part of the alembic where we put the element we want to distillate.

Helmet: It's the upper part of the alembic from where the vapour travels down to the cooling condenser through the tube uniting them.

The cooling condenser: The part of the alembic where the vapour is cooling and condensing and where the distillate comes up.

COLUMN ALEMBIC

The column alembic is made in copper. The column alembic is also called alembic of continuous working process.

The column alembic is appropriate for the distillation of essential oils and plants. This is due to the fact that the water never touches at any time the product we want to distillate, which gives a great purity to the final product.

If we remove the column, the column alembic works as a traditional one.

The column alembic is made of four parts.

The cooking pot or boiler: It's the part of the alembic where we put the element we want to distillate.

Helmet: It's the upper part of the alembic from where the vapour travels down to the cooling condenser through the tube uniting them.

Column: It's the part of the alembic where we put the element we want to distillate.

The cooling condenser: The part of the alembic where the vapour is cooling and condensing and where the distillate comes up.

Working way.

In this alembic you put the water in the lower part (cooking pot). You put the product you want to distillate in the upper column. When the water heats up, the vapour get to the upper part passing through a rack and heating up the element you want to distillate, and with the dragging of the vapour, essential oils and fragrances are extracted. In the cooling condenser, the substance is condensed.

Advantage of the column alembic.

The column alembic can work as a traditional one (perfect to distillate liquids) when the column is removed.

The column alembic is appropriate for the distillation of solid elements.

This alembic is the most appropriate to distillate fragrances and essential oils.

The column alembic is also called semi-industrial because you can save on the heating of water and you can distillate 2 or 3 times the capacity of the column, thanks to the fact that the column can be emptied and filled again without having to heat up the water again.

HIDRAULIC CLOSING ALEMBIC

This model of alembic is the hydraulic closing type made in copper by specialized craftsmen with experience covering generations.

In the price are included the thermometer and the copper separation rack.

The hydraulic alembic is an evolution of the traditional copper alembic used for centuries for the distillation.

The benefit of the hydraulic alembic lies in the fact that you don't have to apply a filler to obtain the air tightness of the alembic during the distillation. This air tightness is achieved by filling with water the cleavage that surrounds the alembic and by putting the helmet over it.

The hydraulic alembic is completely welded and it's a resistant alembic.

The hydraulic alembic is used por every kind of distillations:

  • Distillation of firewater, distillation of rum, distillation of fruits, distillation of gin and distillation of liquors in general.

  • Distillation of plants, distillation of essential oils destined to the extraction of scents, soaps, etc.

The still it consists of three parts:

The cooking pot or boiler: It's the part of the alembic where we put the element we want to distillate.

Helmet: It's the upper part of the alembic from where the vapour travels down to the cooling condenser through the tube uniting them.

The cooling condenser: The part of the alembic where the vapour is cooling and condensing and where the distillate comes up.

BAIN MARIE ALEMBIC

The Bain-marie alembic is actually one alembic inside another with a chamber between both, that works as a Bain-marie. The Bain-marie alembic has an hydraulic closing type, and it's made in copper by specialized craftsmen with an experience covering generations.

The copper separation rack is included in the price.

The Bain-marie alembic is an evolution of the traditional copper alembic used for centuries for the distillation.

The advantage of the Bain-marie alembic resides in the quality of the final product. During the distillation with this alembic, the fire doesn't touch the inside base of the alembic, providing a superior quality of the distillate. In the Bain-marie alembic we don't need to apply a filler to reach the air tightness we need during the distillation. This air tightness is provided by filling with water a cleavage that surrounds the alembic and putting the helmet over it.

The Bain-marie alembic is totally welded and it's a resistant alembic.

You must never use the alembic when there's no water left between the walls of the alembic.

The Bain-marie alembic is used for every kind of High quality distillations:

  • Distillation of firewater, distillation of rum, distillation of fruits, distillation of gin and distillation of liquors in general.

The Bain-marie alembic is made of three parts:

The cooking pot or boiler: It's the part of the alembic where we put the element we want to distillate.

Helmet: It's the upper part of the alembic from where the vapour travels down to the cooling condenser through the tube uniting them.

The cooling condenser: The part of the alembic where the vapour is cooling and condensing and where the distillate comes up.

ALQUITARAS

The alquitaras are actually the origin of the alembics. That element was introduced by the arabs to obtain essences. Nowadays we use them to distillate alcohols and plants.

The alquitaras are made of two parts:

- The cooking pot or boiler: This is the part of the alembic where we

put the element we want to distillate.

- The helmet: The superior part of the alembic from where the vapour from distillation comes out, vapour that will condense thanks to the deposit of water formed by the helmet itself. This helmet works as a cooling device.
